A CD not to be missed
The surprise from this year was for me « Bordon de trapo », the new release from Miguel Angel Cortés. His style has achieved now its full maturity, a perfect synthesis of the best ideas in modern flamenco, with harmonic and rhythmical richness, musicality and inspiration. Listening to this record is a real pleasure, beyond all considerations about style, or category of music. We must add that those compositions are technically quite easy to perform, which makes them of great interest for the majority of guitar players. A first excerpt of this record is already present in the Affedis catalogue, with Abadía, a superb tango such as we had not heard for a longtime.
